Marius Manea is a local Southern California artist that practices oil painting abstract surrealist scenes. Beginning 2019, Marius had a gallery in Laguna Beach near where I was staying. Oftentimes, I could hear him playing his guitar in his bright gallery into the early morning hours. Over time, Marius and I developed a relationship and bonded over the unwelcoming antics from local Laguna Beach residents who often called patrol units over music past 9 PM.

Marius brought new life, energy, and free spirit to those around him which is reflected through his work. One moment of observing his work and it will transcend you elsewhere. I asked him about what inspires him to continue to create. He responded, “I want to take people back to their childhood when they view my paintings. I want them to feel like kids and think about candy and fruit. I want my art to take them away from everyday issues and problems that we face everyday. Take them away from those things for just a moment.”
